I agree Green Leaf Cabins are going to be about the best rate you will find for a 3BR house on beach road. http://www.greenleafcabins.com/rates-info.html
When you split the $180/night between 4-6 people, I'd consider that very affordable. Also, they hint they have a reduced off-season rate, so you might even do better.
Granted, it is morass side, but right across the street is Sunbeach Bar with everything you would need.

Hidden Paradise has 2 and 3 bedroom suites, also at reasonable rates. http://www.hidden-paradise.com/rates.html
Again, they are on morass side of road, but you have beach chair access at their related restaurant right across the street, Mama Flo's.

One thing to note when comparing prices - some hotels note their price includes all taxes/fees, some don't.
This can be anywhere from 15-20% and a surprise if you are not expecting it.
I point this out because I saw that HP says their rate includes them, while GLC is silent so may or may not.

Sometimes you can find listings on Craigslist Caribbean. A lady named used to post her 2 houses there, she goes by the name BlueIris or something like that. They are on the morass side, across from Pilot Cafe. I've seen the property, nice.

I think $180 is a tad high for across the road with no beach or pool. There are 5 sometimes 6 of us in my immediate family group and we never pay that.
The seastar inn can house you comfortable in 2 rooms with free breakfast free phones and internets and free rides to the beach and back for I think they had a special on of 49$ per room so $100 in total I would go for that for sure

There are also very cheap deals online for fun holiday beach resort which is in a very good location right on the beach for much cheaper than 180$

If you only want a wooden cabin then try westport cottages which is opposite travellers beach resort and is very clean cute and safe -has about ten cabins and a huge shared kitchen that was 20 dollars per night per cabin.
Also there is roots bamboo but I preferred westport due to privacy.
Legends and samsara SOMETIMES have deals through thirs party websites.

Check out Ansell's if you want a true beach experience.
The cabins are small, but functional. get two adjoining for a big bunch!

Tictoc - I was considering the $180 price a deal if split between 5-6 people, for a 3BR unit. You're right if they can get away with 2BR.

Since the OP specifically mentioned a kitchen and wants very low-cost, I am assuming they are planning on cooking the majority of their meals themselves to save money.

Problem is they are looking for November, and the Seastar special ends on Nov. 1.
And the $49 rooms are the ones without kitchens, rooms with kitchenettes are $59 during the special - even if Chris would extend the special for them. Otherwise, they are looking at $79.
Plus, the kitchenette is just a mini-fridge and a 2-burner hot plate - not really suited for preparing meals for 4-6 people. (not knocking it because it was perfect for just 2 of us)

A better solution at Seastar would be the large 2BR units with a full kitchen - at $129. Then adding a $59 room if the group is 5-6 people.
But doing that, then, makes the $180 at GLC the cheaper option.
It really comes down to number of people and how many BRs they actually need - and whether they really want to be in beach area, or if West End is OK for them.

thepegboy - I have not visited Ansell's so can't compare it to Seastar or GLC options. Whether the OP considers or not, for my own possible future usage - do you know what would cost be if have 5-6 people and need 3BRs?

You may want to check out the cabins at Yellow Bird. We have stayed there for the last 13 years. The cabins are two bedroom. Both bedrooms have two beds and bathroom. The main part of the cabin has eating/sitting area and kitchen. The patios are large and they have the best yard/vibe on the beach in my opinion.
Are you living, or just existing?
