looking for budget room 4 1 late april, early may. last year,greenleaf and loved it. how do jahb's and normas' rooms compare? also looking for same on cliff side for half of 10 day trip. cheapest way from mobay to negil? would like to spend $$ on excursions rather than a private taxi. ok with no frills rooms, just need to be clean. thanks for any advice. looking so forward to returning

Look at Mango Tree resort on the cliffs. Recently refurbished and great prices.

I used Clive's for a shared transfer, $30 each way and ended up being private. Juta Negril may be a bit cheaper.

Budget.....I roll that way!

Route taxi from MBJ to Negril saves you about $20 each way....While it's not a popular means of transport on this forum it's a savings for those on the cheap.

Norma's and Jah B's are about the same if you view it as just lodging. I've reviewed both online and sent many a budget traveler to both places....I love both places and their owners! With that said, in a few weeks when I reach I might look into the Villa La Cage ($25 a night) or Mango tree just to try something different...actually stayed at Mango Tree under the old owner and wrote a bad review...but the property kicks ass and the new owners are good people and are worthy of my business. Speaking of which....time to send off some emails to secure my own lodging...

Good luck and please share your lodging experience so others on the cheap can afford more of a vacation.

Just wondering...the pictures look about the same as Jah B's, what makes it nicer? Also, does it have sound pollution like Jah B's has from the Jungle a couple nights a week?
