What's Within Walking Distance From Xtabi?

Since we are now booked at Xtabi from 11/25-12/2 I wanted to find out about all that's within a very comfortable walking distance from there (eats, drinks, entertainment, etc...)?

Is there a grocery or mart nearby for room supplies, what about an ATM (J's or $, or both)?

I've enjoyed Miyard and On the Rocks before, is Xtabi within walking distance of those?

I've also always wanted to try the jerk pork at Red Dragon, is it anywhere near there? I heard there's also a different locals name for Red Dragon, what is that?

All info on whats close/near by will be greatly appreciated.

Again, I thank you in advance for your help.

Everyone has a different ideas what walking distance is, so instead here is the Negril map so you can decide for yourself.
    http://www.maherconsulting.com/negri...p2011final.pdf

But I would say that 3 Dives definitely is, since just next door.
I tend toward the more low-budget authentic Jamaican cooking style places - I can't offer opinion on nearby higher-end restaurants, if that's your style.
Other places like that I can recommend just a little farther walk are Sips-n-Bites, and Eddie's De Bar to the south - and PeeWee's and No Limit Bar to the north.
Going a little farther south are a few other places I really like - Jam-Can, Shark's Restaurant (both on the map), and Salt-n-Pepper's (not on the map, but near the corner of Seastar Lane).
Another cool, unique spot is not on the map, but is C&D Country & Western Bar - it is right next door to Jennys Cakes (is on the map) which is also a recommended restaurant.

There are convenience stores within 1KM either direction - Seastick's Grocery and L&M Grocery to the north, and Foster's Grocery to the south.
For a true grocery store like back home, you will have to go downtown to Hi-Lo or Value Master.
If you want really budget prices on a few limited things - soft drinks, beer, rum, liquor, and some mixers - the ChinaMan shop, downtown next to Burger King, is where the locals go.
Route taxis can get you to either one, so don't have to take a regular taxi and can save quite a bit that way.

I can't think of an ATM on the West End, but the closest cambio would be Banmark Cambio/Bike Rental, which also has good rate for travelers checks - a little to the south.
There is an ATM next to the Hi-Lo, and also 2 at the bank in the town center - you can get either $US or $JA at the bank ATMs, I'm not sure of the Hi-Lo's ATM, but there is a cambio right in the Hi-Lo.

The Red Dragon is not in the area - is back in the Red Ground neighborhood up the hill a little ways from the town center.
Their pork is definitely worth the trip and any taxi driver will know it. The other name you were thinking is Ragabones, but all the signs on it now say Red Dragon.
Buy an extra order and bring it back for the staff at the hotel to snack on - you'll be an instant friend.

Hope these suggestions help. Have fun!

I was about to answer but looks like Ohio Buckeye pretty much covered it all, great info there
I definitely agree with 3 dives, it is literally right next door and it is always my first meal when I get to Negril, love that place. Xtabi also has just about everything you could need, good food, good drinks, good view.
The little convenience stores he mentioned are nearby and provide pretty much all you will need especially because the superior rooms dont have fridges or microwaves or stoves you probably wont be loading up on much food.
The only ATMs I know of are downtown, one next to Hi-Lo (only has Js) and the other is almost to the roundabout at Scotia Bank, they have two doors and I think its the one on the left that offers both Js and US dollars. Then there is another one at Times Square that offers US dollars but quite the atm service charge.

Also we were able to walk to RockHouse and Pushcart very easily from Xtabi and enjoy meals there too, a little higher end but there are plenty of places nearby, you can't go wrong staying at Xtabi.....enjoy!

Can't forget the #1 ranked restaurant in Negril (as per Tripdvisor)......Just Natural. Its right next door to Xtabi. Awesome restaurant run by the nicest family.

You gotta check them out. Great food for any meal.....

Stop by Tony's (outside of the No Limit) for jerk chicken.

    3 ATM's in town:
Scotia Bank (charges a fee, use left door for choice of US or JA dollars, right door for JA only)
ATM in the room next to the Cambio in the parking lot next to Scotia Bank - this one doesn't seem to like my cards
ATM outside of ValuMaster - this is the one I prefer to use (same kind as the one outside HiLo)

There are also ATM's at the roadside and gas station heading out of town (toward Mobay) just past the big all-inclusive resorts.

Just a bit of an update....Tony is no longer by the No Limit Bar...last that I know he was near Spyda's bar...but that was a few months ago.
My favorite ATM is the NCB next to the HiLo....I go to stand in the cold, cold a/c....
And, Red Dragon is owned by Raggabones...you may only need to remember that name if you get an older driver who only knows the property by the owner's name...you won't have a problem. Red Dragon isn't walk-able unless you're really ambitious...just grab a cab.
