I travelled through Bluefields once as you did and wanted to return. The water is such a lovely shade of blue there. We went back a trip or two later. I would agree that it is rocky as JamaicaMary pointed out. I remember walking out of the water and losing my footing on a rock which caused me to have to put the other foot down quickly with all my weight on it. When I planted that foot, it landed on a rock too. I had a stone bruise on the bottom of my foot which was pretty painful for a couple of weeks. I also remember there being a lot of thick grass (seaweed?) in the water. Also, the water was much rougher there that afternoon than it typically is in Negril. Belmont Beach looks really beautiful. Makes me want to check it out sometime.

"There's a land not so far away/Where the sun keep shinning all through the day/And this land that we all love/God gave us the wood and the water/Blessed by the moon and stars above/Sweet, sweet Jamaica/Beautiful Jamaica/Everyday feels like a holiday/Sweet reggae music playing/From Negril to Morant Bay/Sweet, sweet Jamaica/Oh Jamaica/Irie, irie, irie Jamaica/Sweet Jamaica our land we love"
