Packing will happen this weekend! Woohoo! Trying to keep it down to a reasonable amount. Got the shade tent, kettle, tea, toaster, peanut butter, baggies, tin foil, Bubba mugs, go cup...wait a a minute!?! Am I going to have room for any clothes? Single digit time...

The past 3 trips, I've just taken a carry-on. Take a few swimsuits and sundresses, some shorts and t-shirts, snorkle mask, flip-flops, nice pair of sandals, and a few books. Since I stepped on a sea urchin one time, I have since never forgetten my tweezers. Of course, sunscreen cannot be taken in the carry on, so I always buy that when I get there, and use a ton of it, #30 or higher.

    Re: What should I pack??

I completely overpacked my first trip 10 years ago & have made a game of not overpacking since.
Like Prism, I can get away with just a carry on and a beach bag for a 10-14 day trip. 1 pair of pants , T shirt, and fleece hoodie all layered that I wear on the plane.

I bring a large sarong or a thin beach towel that I can use to sit/lay on or for shade if needed.

All of my clothes & sandals are tried & true. I don't usually bring new things. To me, nothing worse than being uncomfortable from clothes/shoes when trying to chill!

I color coordinate things. If I'm bringing blue & brown flip flops, I only bring clothes that will go with. The cute outfit that I need that one special pair of shoes doesn't go on the trip....unless a very special occasion!
No bling, only a few pieces that I don't mind losing.

No make-up, other than waterproof mascara.

I pack once, then start removing items
My goal, to not bring more than I can carry!

I've come to the conclusion that the only things I need to pack for Negril are what I can fit into my Big Bubba Keg carry on.

HAHA, before each trip I say "Self, don't you dare over pack. Just a few bikinis and a few pairs of shorts/tanks, and flips"

    YA RIGHT!

I end up bringing Everything. Hope you do better than me

    Me?

    some bathing suits.

    a button down

    Jeans

    Sneakers

    2 pairs of flops.

Takes up 3/4 of a small carry-on rolling suitcase.

    Girlfriend

Opens up walk-in closet and proceeds to pack everything that fits in her huge suitcase. Then takes up the rest of my suitcase, then loads up our backpack.

    Re: What should I pack??

As the years go by, I find I bring fewer clothes, but more "stuff". Random stuff like duct tape, set of silverware, small pack of laundry detergent, extension cord, candle, swiss army knife, etc. I know this is all stuff I can by in JA, but its nice to have a few items like this ready to go in case something comes up. I may not use it all every trip, but I have used all this "stuff" at some point in my travels and thought "man I am glad I brought this".
