LOL ....... Lime is one of the cell phone companies in Jamaica. If you have a JA cell you can top up your minutes there.

CHLuke - Scotia Bank Canada and Scotia Bank Ja customer here, and they are not connected. Your free withdrawals on your Canadian ATM will not be applicable at the Ja Scotia Bank. Unless they have changed it from last June, which I doubt, your daily limit is JA$15,000 at Scotia Bank but you can get $30,000 per day from the Jamaica National (I think that's what it's called). That is per card - so if you have a joint account with someone, you can both take out the daily limit. (which is how we became a Scotia Bank Ja client, but that's another adventure for another time!) We can't transfer funds from the Canadian account to the Jamaican account, either. You can't just open an account there, either. They are very careful about money laundering, and you need references (which they will check!!!!). It's a process. Just be mindful of the limitations.

We thought it would be a snap being a Scotia Bank customer here, but it's not. You are just like everyone else in the bank's eyes.

M&G M, I'm actually not a Scotia Canada customer. I'm from the states, and read that if I am a Bank of America customer there are no ATM fees at the Scotia Bank ATMs. Can anyone verify this? Just looking to be efficient about changing over money. If not, I'll just go to the Cambio.

    Thanks!
