Rooms on the Beach room question

Seriously considering a trip in early April, we'd be staying at Rooms on the Beach this reach. I like the idea of an Oceanfront room, but am told that some of those rooms have no balcony, just patio doors with a railing. Does anyone know what room(s) we should request? We'd like a covered balcony or terrace, ground floor would be better for us but 2nd floor would be okay. Any luck in getting a requested room? Do we have a better chance of getting a requested room if we book directly with the hotel or through a TA?

Do all of the gardenview rooms have a balcony or terrace?

    Thanks!

The Oceanfront rooms on the 1st floor have a deck, not covered, above that the other rooms have a railing and patio door. In the other building the oceanfront rooms are over the restaurant on the 2nd floor and have a terrace, one of those rooms has a bed/lounger, that is covered, that one is the best room of all. You put in a request but they can't guarantee or tell you which room you would get.

Thanks Bluez. A patio door and a railing just wouldn't work, we might be better off with a garden view... I just don't know what to do

The second floor rooms with just sliding door and railing are a bit of a let down. If I was in your shoes I would book a garden view room and see if I could upgrade to one of the good ocean view rooms, once I was on the ground.

There are 4 garden view rooms that have a partial, if at a bit of distance, ocean view from the balcony. They are on the second floor and face the central path through the resort. I'd try and get in one of those as fall back option. How early in April? I'm arriving on the 12th for a week, heading to Seastar. Might we overlap?

Thanks Cherry - sadly we'd be leaving just as you arrive. We're looking at the 5-12.

Oh Jitterbug, I wish you had said hello. I remember you had mentioned you were traveling home the same flight as us, but I didn't know who to look for! It is going to be a bit of a change up this trip as I'm leaving Sunshine at home and heading down with a friend instead. We both have one more week's vacations than our hubby's and I can't think of a better place to spend it! We plan to be down on the beach a couple of days and will be at the Seastar show on the 12th. Please shout out if you see me wandering around. You won't be intruding

Thanks jamaicarob - I saw them - appreciate it! We walked by in December and took a few pictures, but didn't really go up and in to check it out. I should have, because now I have so many questions!

    Thanks again
