    Rain again!

My goodness.... have never seen so much rain for the month of January! I have been living here for about 5 1/2 years and this is the first January I've seen so rainy! NOT complaining.... just pointing out that the weather patterns have changed a lot during the last few years.

Am sorry for those here on vacation... as they do come for the sun + beach. BUT, there are many other 'tings' to do here in Negril to occupy your time and still have a wonderful holiday

    Blessings!

How much rain? Is the sun even making an appearance? Arriving Saturday and hoping for lots of sun although I know the rain is desperately needed. Will love our time time there no matter what. There are definitely lots of 'tings' to do! Soon come.

I'm with you, 2Nutz! A little cloud and rain, with temps about 0 sounds pretty good to me. Here we are sitting at -20 (and lower at night) and my daughter in Calgary says it was gonna be +7 there. What's with that? Alberta is supposed to be the cold province!!!

Single digit fidget. I don't care if it rains. So long it rains above 0. I AM Canadian. I can deal with it!

These persistent cold fronts keep disrupting the trade wind flow and spin off instability in the tropics.

The winter of 1976 was very much like this one.

Liquid Sunshine! I remember last year at this time it was quite dry. Water shortages all over. Some resorts had to buy water and fill tanks on the roof. People in the hills went without. No water at the pipe. Bush all brown too!

Those trade winds have three weeks to blow out of there. We were in Jamaica a few years ago..can't exactly remember which year..and the weather was cold, rainy, and windy. We were stuck at the RIU in Ocho and that wasn't much fun. Being "stuck" in Negril methinks would be better...

    Hello Mayanryan,

How much rain you asked.... not a lot to be 'concerned' about It seems to be raining every afternoon, but not for long and then the sun comes out again. The last five years I've been living here most times in January you won't see any rain at all.... this is why it's rather strange to me that it's been raining daily.

This won't disrupt your holiday at all... you've got the right attitude, you will love your time here no matter what! Try to stop by at St. Anthony's Kitchen - now that's a great thing to do

    Safe travels!

For the ladies in Ottawa/Montreal - I've heard it's very very cold there.... and for sure I'd take the rain over those cold temperatures any day! ha ha ha..... it's just 'odd' to me that there has been rain almost daily during this month!
