Hey guys...I know someone will know this since I can't find the info anywhere. I've read that the days cruise ships come in are brutal at the airport. We arrive on a Wednesday around 2:00. Just trying to decide if we should order the VIP treatment 😎

Not that many ships depart from Jamaica, most just stop there so those won't affect the airport. Having said that, this is a good resource to check the cruise ship schedules http://www.cruisetimetables.com. Departure ports are at the top of the page, scroll down for "destination" ports
Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. Must have mis-read something. I thought I read that cruise ship passengers landing in Jamaica for the day has to pass through airport customs. We didn't really have a long wait the last time I flew in a few years ago. That time we stayed an an AI in Ocho and spent over an hour waiting for the shuttle bus to. Fill...lesson learned...take a taxi

They may have to pass through customs, but would do that at the cruise ship terminalNo worries for the airport! Agreed, private transport is the way to go!

They clear customs at the cruise ship terminals which for Mobay, are at the other end of town. They may crimp the number of taxis available, but if you have pre-arranged a taxi to Negril, your only problem may be traffic out of Mobay.
That is a dandy little schedule, 2Nutz! While they may not hamper your entry at the airport, some places can be crowded when the cruise ships are in - but only until 4 or 5, maybe earlier. Dunn's River, Doctor's Cave Beach, craft markets .... that sort of thing. But they all leave before dinner. Just avoid big tourist places on cruise ship days !!! I never found it an issue in Negril (except for once or twice at Margaritaville); mostly Ochi and Mobay in-and-around activities. Just my experience.
We are pretty much planting ourselves in Negril. Just found out a couple we are aquatinted with are arriving at the same time. They have been to Negril often and have a driver lined up so we are sharing. Problem solved..
