Jamaicans love Partner as it's a way of saving for a large purchases, vacation, etc. Very popular with island people here in the New York area. You just have to be able to trust the banker and the participants as people sometimes drop out (can't pay) and the people at the bottom of the ladder get shortchanged. Say you have 10 people, then the partner will last for 10 weeks and everyone in the group is given a choice of the week they want their draw. If it's ongoing, someone may choose last and first draw to get double the money, providing it's ongoing, but each week one person gets the entire pot.
When you help someone expect nothing in return and you will receive your reward ten times over.
