Suitable day or overnight trips (non touristy if possible) from Negril

Hey guys, long term lurker and Negril lover here

I will be returning to Jamaica for the 5th time this summer. 2nd to Negril. I visited last year with my friend who will be returning with me again in June. On our last trip we only stayed for 10 days and decided that as it was her first time to JA we would stay primarily on the beach. Towards the end we took a beautiful day trip to Trelawny (I love the country in JA) and my friend absolutely adored seeing Jamaica and getting off the beach for the day. It was a pleasant surprise as she is mostly the beach all day type, but i guess she fell in love with all things Jamaica too

This time we are here for 14 days and she has said she really wants to travel and see more of Jamaica. My question is, where can we go that is close enough for a day trip or an overnight trip? So far i plan on taking her to Treasure beach as I have been before and enjoyed it. I also worked in Mandeville for a month and thought about taking her there, but there is little to do, although maybe I'm underestimating her liking the slow pace of nothing! she liked Trelawny after all.

I've also travelled around Kingston and would love to take her there because they have the best nightlife in Jamaica (IMO).....but it's simply too far/expensive and not worth it for only a day or so.

We plan on spending our last 3 days on the hip strip but to be honest I'm wondering if we should even bother as it seems quite boring compared to Negril.

    Any advice?

Kingston is very cheap if you take the bus...knutsford (not the name but somewhat close I hope). If she's a party girl stay in Negril.

Only thing that would drag me away if I wanted to party would be the Sunday beach party in Priory (close to Ochi).....or maybe a rum party outside of the tourist areas....but then you would need a good and trusted driver.

Bluefields Beach area looked nice. There is a public beach area with a few restaurants and bars. We drove thru there a few weeks ago and stopped.

Mayfield Falls isn't crowded and you are way out in the country. It is an easy day trip from Negril. Also, you might want to look at Blue Hole, not far from Negril. If they finally open the hotel it would be a neat place to spend a night or two. Again, way out in the country.
I have been considering a trip to Madeville next time to the island. What is there to do in the area? I know you said "not much", but can you provide any info on interesting things. Perhaps a tour of the mines, or a good museum or maybe some falls in the area?

    Regards,
    Bob
