you should be fine -but if your like me and like to go off the beaten path and explore-then maybe not so much… If your just going to hang out at the beach and go to local clubs that most tourists visit and dont go off the main tourists path..then yeah ,should be fine… and im not going tell you "bring your common sense -like your an idiotic 2yo" just know be very careful of who tries to friend you up there..and yes, take all the necassary safe /lock down your room precautions…
It not the same negril that your once visited…their is more crime because their are more criminals there ready to prey on unsuspecting tourist..times are hard ..it is what it is..
Jamaica the island itself hasnt changed too much -still has all the beautiful scenery and beaches and water-just more built up ..still a fun/beautiful place to visit… IMHO you just cant let your hair down as much as you use too…. got to be alot more on guard of everything..
