When I created the Negril Message Board on July 31st, 1997, it was something I knew was needed so that all the folks that had been emailing me would be able to be able converse with each other, and plus it would cut down on my email load.... (grin)

Little did I know that the "Boardie" phenomenon would arise so quickly that within 1 week I would need to upgrade the server because "wi mashed up da machine mon!" The traffic on our Negril Message Board had surpassed most traffic anywhere on the internet back then.

It is a privilege to create a place for so many people who share an interest in Negril to come together and meet each other, be it here online or in person in Negril, or even in their hometowns!
We have had thousands of people come and go over the years, and we have lost some dear friends, from 2Negril to most recently Nick. We miss all of them - they had become like family.
I have had the incredible opportunity to meet, heck, probably well over 100,000 of you over the past 19 years of Negril.com - and that has been a wonderful thing to experience.
And all this has been made possible by the fact that you "Boardies" have felt comfortable enough to join our Negril.com online family through our Negril Message Board. You write to each other, you are helpful answering questions and you form friendships that can last a lifetime.
