Get & Take-With, a small Rice Cooker
my *latest* must-have kitchen/cooking *appliance* is a small rice cooker::::: use it as you would a crock pot, as i did on my recent trip.
for example,
a few days ago (in Lucea counry),
for breakfast:::
i prepared some steel cut oatmeal & quinoa
with several ackee pods/fruit (that I plucked myself from a tree in the yard)
yummy yummy yummmmmmmmy
&
sooooooooooo nutritious
as with a crock pot,
you can cook meat (e.g., chicken) and/or vegetables therein.
A *possible* down-side::::>>> Jamaica being as it is, the JPS (the electric power company) will have to be *cooperative*, and not have the current/power locked-OFF
:-(
Significant Up-side & Benefits:::
1...whatever you cook/prepare will be done & ready-to-eat within 45 minutes.
2...nutriants retained
3...flavor & taste enhanced
Suggestion:::>> PRACTICE & experiment with the rice-cooking-process BEFORE you leave-foreign.
tip:::>> pack an extra extension cord.
the small rice cooker is light weight (for packing), and takes up no space in your luggage.
