    A
Usually starts with a walk from which ever property we are staying at on the beach to town and back preferably before the sun hits the waters edge. Love the stillness of the water and the quiet time on the beach before the business day starts. After that its all about the fabulous flavors washed down with Red Stripes and whatever adventures present themselves!! Like to wing it on holidays as life is so scheduled back home......

Either a long walk from Barrys to Cosmos or further to Hedo, or run the beach from Barrys
to Treehouse. Then swim, read a book on beach till 12:30 then a patty, a beer, and a spliff
on porch at my room. Back to beach read and swim. 4 back to room for indoor recreation.
Dinner around 6. 9:30 find some music on the beach.

Usually hit the beach/bar around 8:30 or 9:00. Towel on the lounge chair, first red stripe 10:ish. Love saying hello to old friends from years past as they pass by. This year the beach/bar will be moved down a few properties to Treehouse. Looking forward to a new perspective.

LOL when by myself it goes something like this : out on the beach about 6 am for a walk or run on the beach from nbcc to around cosmos watch the sun rise buy some Oj and Pineapple juice on way back to room talk with some of beach vendors just getting in to set up shops. Lounge in room until 7:30-8:00 when one of my friends that is bartending somewhere will call and say they are bored. Walk to those spots. 10:30 ish head to St. Anthony's Kitchen until around 12:30-1:00. Walk back to room grab a patty from Juicy on way back to room, grab my bags of toys, balls and books I have brought for craft market kids under the bridge, head down there as kids are getting out of school. Hang with the vendors for a couple hours maybe gamble a few games back with the fisherman, catch a game of soccer at the beach park and join in sometimes. Head up to Xtabi to jump and lounge in the sun and plug in my own non reggae music over the sound system and drink my dinner in bananas. Catch a music show at night or head to cosmos or beach house villas for a dinner of pepper shrimp. Sometimes if I head out with locals I have known for many trips at night we go to scrub a dub or the roof top. Return to room 2-3 am and walk down to pier docks by the roundabout and walk out on them and sit to relax with the sounds and smells of the ocean waves crashing against the stone talking with all the street folks on my way down there. Return to room 3-4 ish. Sleep a little and start all over again. Getting a little too old for Jungle and Scrub type activities so this trip kindle will be loaded full of books and other than craft market, and st. Anthony's I will be found on the lounge chair next to the jump platform at Xtabi with a hell of a smile if you dont see me there look in water below.LOL

Re: What's your average day in Jamaica?

Wake up whenever I want....have some tea on the veranda and think about how lucky I am to be able to find an island that I adore! Possibly, wake and bake...and later have some fresh fruit for breakfast. Hopefully, chat with the folks at the resort and maybe have a swim. Very slowly......begin to prepare for the day. Maybe take a walk on West End and chat with friends from long time.

Well, by now it it probably about noon...so tink about a beverage! Ok...now mi ready...grab a route taxi and hit the beach. Not an everyday occurrence...but always a fun day. Walk about 7 mile and browse the area...take a swim...repeat....grab a quick drink and of course....talk some more with the locals. To me, every single day in Jamaica is an adventure. One never knows what will occur or who we will see...it seems magical. There are always familiar faces from previous trips and it seems that they will suddenly appear!!! I may be thinking about Niah (the infamous patty maker) and I run into him at the Corner Bar. I may be thinking about Errol from the former Royal Kitchen...and suddenly, I see him walking about.. That is the magical, ethereal wonders of Negril. Before I know it, my day is made full with the wonderful folks that I have been blessed to have met and call my friends.

Somehow, this wonderful island always delivers. Well...almost...sometimes the days or evenings can be met with a few that take some effort to deal with..but that is life. Generally, every single day is truly a wonder. Jerk chicken is one of my favorite snacks during the afternoon...then later...shower, dress....and hang out for a while before dinner. Choosing where to eat dinner is always a big deal. SO many choices...hit dinner, chat and chill....maybe luck out and hit a concert....Rest and repeat!!!

Captain...thanks for reminding me just how wondrous this island can be. After typing this reply, I am taken aback just how relaxing every single day can be. No, I am not blinded...I have had some days that ...well, rather sucked!!! But, overall, nothing...can compare to a good day in Jamaica!!

Wake up early to watch the sunrise, take a few pics, walk the beach for a bit, find my beach ladies and buy fruit for the day. Go back to my room and shower then get dressed. Do my hair, etc. I go look for breakfast...I usually have a meal under $500J. Back to to the beach, people watch then walk downtown, exchange cash and find something interesting to do. I check the little shops out. I look for Bob Marley Shirts or dresses. Head to value master, buy some snacks and give them to the kids hanging out near BK and the pier. Then head to Sav to look around and to grange hill to hang with family for the day. I dont plan anything but this is usually what I do.

A few less bars, about the same beers, my favorite Jamaican veggie all day, a shot or 4, and usually a killer breakfast with extra OJ to hydrate. And SUN all day long.....
