    Scooter to Petersfield Roaring-River

Ya alright I know there's a lot of people that don't like the idea of taking the road to Sav Le Mar (on a scooter) for many reasons.
But those who have done it can you give me some helpful hints as to make it a smooth ride up to Roaring-River, directions, shortcuts, things to look out for, would be appreciated.
Oh ya we're staying at a place just south of the lighthouse so I'm wondering if it would be better to just swing around the west, Orange hill rather than going through negril to catch the A2.

And I want to check out Rat Bat Cave in Little Bay who has the secret map? "It's a bit of a hike" along a small trail near Bob Marley's retreat house.

I did it. Little sore on the tushy, a long ride. We had a guide on a motorcycle that pointed out all the pot holes as we followed along. Frankly, it was a bit too far for a scooter.

Been there a few times on a scooter. Try both ways, main road and over the mountain. Heck try a 3rd way, through the cane fields (on the roads though).....a very nice ride....all 3 ways for their own reasons. Along the way random dudes on motorbikes will try to escort you and win your business....beware or strike up a firm deal. They will want money for the escort over, money if they are a tour guide......plus they get I think $5 just for bringing you. If you feel comfortable getting there tell them you are all set and you are meeting up with Carlos one of the guides and they will leave you alone.

Don't rule out a visit to Sav, it's a wonderful town without the tourist bs like Negril. Plenty of good prices at the markets.

For the rat bat cave and Marley tour google them and you will find my reviews. "Boot" is your go to person for both or at least for the Marley tour. $5-$10 is more than enough for his time unless you spend all day with him visiting the speedway(auto racing). For the rat bat cave please give a likkle something to the yam farmer who maintains the trail. Oh, the trail starts 3/4 the way up the drive to the school.....but parts of the upper path are above the cave with holes leading down to it.....dangerous without a guide.

I could go on and on....

It is a nice ride but be prepared to fly over potholes and as one said guides who want your cash.

    Merci/ Thanks Eco and friends.
Is Marley ruins, and Rat-bat cave private property?
I'm thinking of passing by after having a dip at Blue hole.
That School your talking about Eco is it a breeze to find? Sounds pretty easy after that.

Marley's house/ruins is that also off the beaten path any signs or Roads to find my way?
    Regards

I second the mention to connect with Boot if you make it to Little Bay. He cooked, without a doubt, THE best lobster I have ever had, anywhere, anytime. He steamed it in foil over a wood fire and it melted in your mouth. Not sure if he'd have any lobsters on hand when you're there, but it certainly would be worth the ask.

Trail leading to Rat Bat Cave
Alright I found the All ages school in Little Bay and I see the lane up to the school, is the trail off to the left or right?
    Thanks

The trail is off on the left side. Maybe at most a 3-5 minute walk.

Marleys place is 1/4 mile down the road past the bend with the bar on the ocean side. Entering from either side puts you on private property and one side is not keen on that. You could enter from the fading red gate from the road and take a wild guess on how to navigate your way in....it's a jungle.

I'm not a safety type of guy but please don't try to self tour either one of those. If you were to find Bob Marleys mineral bath you might be able to get in and not able to climb out=you drown or some other bad outcome. The bat cave would be the same if you fell in one of those top holes.

$5-$10 for both tours is worth it for safety....plus you will spend moe than that at the Blue Hole right up the road....unless you are talking about the Blue hole at roaring river which is a little more.

If for some odd reason you are planning these adventures in the next couple of weeks let me know, I'll be down that way.
