    Some Trip Photo's

We were so lucky to have a clear day flying to the rock. Looking out of the window I thought to myself, if this plane can’t make it to Jamaica just land safely on one of those islands. Any of them will do just fine. Such a beautiful site compared to the frozen tundra our tired eyes left behind. We knew we were about to see places we would never want to leave...

We took Rockys Tours from the airport. Our flight was 45 minutes delayed but our chauffeur extraordinaire (Wayne) was there waiting for us as and as we would soon find out would be giving us a very good history lesson about his people/country. We purchased a couple of red stipes and our first hummingbird ever (I know, “its pink” but it was so tasty and not overly sweet!) and off we went. We hit a traffic jam in Lucea and waited an hour to get through it but no problem mon, its 84 degrees. We made a quick stop for a six pack of red stripe light to calm my nerves. The driving in this country is crazy; everyone drives like they have a death wish. I think they’re confused, they don’t know whether to drive on the right or left hand side of the road. “No rules. A little over two hours later at 4:30pm we arrived at the White Sands. Quick to the room to drop our bags and right to the beach. Our first steps on Negril sand looking towards the cliffs.

Edit: Oops, that was our first steps next morning phote...LOL
    Here is our first.

We walked on the beach far enough that the waves washed sand onto the tops of our feet. We breathed the salty ocean air deep into our lungs. We’re finally here. Pinch me baby pinch me... We stood there for the better part of 10 minutes with grins from ear to ear. Then I got thirsty so we walked up to the closest bar. Does anyone recognize it?

From there we headed towards the cliffs in search of NBCC to meet some boardies. We had no problem with vendors (thanks for the advice from you fellow boardies) a quick raise of the hand and a polite no thank you and they didn’t pursue. On our way we stopped and admired one of the most beautiful sunsets we’ve ever seen.

We headed back up the beach all the way past White Sands and further stopping in for a beverage and meeting more very friendly people. This gentleman was a very friendly character.

Needless to day it was a long day. Next morning we met Flex aka juiceman, bought a quart of mango and sat down to a basic but good breakfast at White Sands.
