Re: Somewhere to watch Olympic hockey?
Not Negril, but my ex and I were leaving on a cruise out of MoBay back in 2002. Our flight arrived early, but the ship wasn't leaving until 8:30 or so at night. It was the day of the Canada-US gold medal game. There wasn't a TV to be found on the ship, they suggested we go into MoBay to find a bar showing the game. We found a driver, he was going to take us to what is now Margaritaville but it was flooded due to high waves. To make a long story short, he ended up taking us to Doctors Cave beach (I think) & got them to waive the admission. We sat at the bar, drank a lot of redstripe and watched the game. I'm not a big hockey fan, but I do love gold medal games, and let me tell you it was the BEST. Not just because we won
but because of the setting, the beach, the breeze blowing in, the cold pitchers of RedStripe and the vibe. I guess all I'm trying to say is nothing beats the vibe of watching a hockey game on the beach!! And, yes, the Jamaicans thought we were all nuts!
