Taking my daughters to Negril for their first time!!!

Taking my three year old and my thirteen year old to Negril! This will be my fourth trip. We are doing a short five night stay. Not all inclusive. Travellers! I figure nice beach, great pool, and great security. Kids will stay busy in the water I am thinking! Kind of nervous. How to keep a three year old entertained enough?

A float toy(the kind one can sit in). A bucket and shovel to do some sand castle building! I have seen little ones play in the sand for long periods of time and have a ball! Oh and lots of sun screen too. Have a great time!

We have been bringing our daughter to Negril since she was 18 months, she is now 6. She's been swimming since she was 3yo, on her own, treading water, etc. I would get her a" learn to swim tube trainer" It's a tube that is attached to a shirt. We have a pool and have all of our friends get one for their little ones. Each one of them has thanked us for the suggestion. It allows the child to learn to use their arms and legs in the water while allowing them to be more independent. Be sure to inflate it before you get to Negril with a bike pump. Also a good sun hat (love coolibar website) and sunglasses.

i used to bring lots of action figures - sometimes you can get packs of them on amazon

my son used to spend hours building sand castles and moving his action figures around --- and the figures would attract playmates

my biggest worry was when he would take off down the beach chasing a seagull lol

    this is what i'm suggesting:

I just got back with my three year old. Check out the "puddle jumper" life jackets. It was great, she could basically sit in the water with us. ALso, Sun Beach for the swings for afternoon naps.

I haven't looked at the puddle jumper, but at 3 years old, kids are ready to learn how to swim, not just sit in the water. That's why that swim tube is so great, because the kids are learning how to swim with it on. Sorry if I sound offensive, but I think it's so important for kids to learn how to swim at an early age.

We at St. Anthony's would love to meet your children! Bring them down early morning so they can see the kids go to school Perhaps visit a local school and see how things run there - your 13 year old would love that!

    Blessings!

My wife is pretty concerned with the lack of healthcare in Negril. My 3 year old just was hospitalized for a month with pneumonia. She is well now. I told her if we have any issues at all it is the first ride to Mobay then to us
