    Saturday night

We are arriving Sat. Feb. 22 around 6pm. Any good music that nite? Is the Sea Star Reggae Show good or corny? We are fun loving late 40's that like good food and reggae music. Recommendations for food and fun Saturday night arrival?

The food at seastar is very good and the staff are excellent. The music.....corny=yes. House band playing Marley music puts the T in tourist experience at Disney land. I would still suggest going since very few people complain about the music and nobody picks on the food. Watch one of the webcast from there.

The same Marley songs do get old and you hear them everywhere. But the Seastar Drummers are great! Dear wife has been playing West African drumming for years and she says that this is the real thing; traditional rhythms from Guiana and Ivory Coast. We have heard various guest singers such as Robin Banks that put on a good show with non-reggae music.

My wife and I always make a point to go to Seastar on Saturday night. Once the music stops at Ricks the music starts up at Seastar and you can hear it from the east. My wife and I stay across the street from Banana Shout. Soon as the sun is about to go down we just walk down the street to Seastar (5min walk). Buffet is good with rice and peas, jerk chicken, snapper, bread rolls, pasta, free water and lemon aid. There are several different artists but we enjoy Stevie West, Sasanya, and the African Drummers. Wait staff is fantastic.

Linston is coming to Seastar after your pickup for Miss G's family reunion. If you need a ride he'll bring you. First drink is on me!

So, Stephen goes on first? We will get up around 4:30 that morning so may want to head to the room early after hearing him. Anyone going to Sea Star Saturday the 22nd? If we get a second wind is there any one set to play later that night that you all would recommend? Is it safe to walk from Sea Star to Banana Shout after dark? Any place close to Banana Shout for live music early evenings? We will be there 4 nights. Thanks all for your great tips.
Oh, can we order off the menu at Sea Star if we don't want buffet?

good or corny.. Id say Good then corny!

Steven West has true talent... he writes & performs originals, has albums full of great originals. He sounds like Jimmy Cliff and typically comes on first.

From there... I'll just say we dont last long.... at all.

Note to seastar if Stephen West played all night or even on another night and played a real show all night- I would certainly stay and buy beverages ALL NIGHT. Just tossing that out there...

Totally agree with what Murph says. We also would love to come for dinner (not buffet) on another night when it is all about Stephen.
