Preparing for our Newbie Trip...Quick Question

Three more weeks!! Do we need bug spray for the Cliffs or is this just a Beach/sand flea issue? We are going to try to take a day checking out the beach bars & restaurants but probably won't be there at night when (I believe?) the sand fleas are bad. Or am I wrong?

I would still spray at dusk, there are no-sees-em, buy the spray in Ja, any variety store, ask the clerk, there stuff works better.

We use bug spray when staying on the cliffs. I don't get bit, but my wife does.

I got eaten alive on the cliffs in Nov/Dec - at LTU, Catcha, Seastar, 3-dives...pretty much everywhere we went. It is worth noting that I am a magnet for bugs - hubby had hardly a bite. Forgot the bug spray at home - won't do that again!

I've noticed I seem to get bites right after rain.

Would Wise Choice across from Catcha have good bug spray? I have read that it is small.

Wise choice probably does. Probably on the right as you walk in near all the medication and suntan lotion. If not Hi-Lo would be your best buy. My wife usually has us check in one of our bags and I end up buying bug spray here.

I would bring your own. You will get hit at Catcha, at least I do. I have graduated to product high in Deet as all the other stuff does not work for me. And those Jamaican Mosquitos are tiny, nothing like the monsters seen in parts of the States. And do not forget itch product..... The Allegra itch product worked well for me the last trip.
