They left Jam at least a year or two ago....Either back to Scotland or maybe Miami????..But yeah, sorry to see them go..Always enjoyed hanging out with them..Two of the nicer/more "real" people that lived in Negril...

Last I heard, they were headed back to Scotland. Nice people indeed!!
The Al & Mary I am referring to are from Thunderbay area in Canada. We meet them on a flight from Toronto a few years ago my better half sat beside Mary and chatted about our common love for Jamaica & especailly Negril. After arriving at Mo bay we went our different ways crossing paths with Al & Mary on the Negril beach during one of our many walks.
One year later, January 2011 we arrived as per usual at Mo bay yada yada, we were so happy to be back once again in the land of the marley vibe. As we made our trip from mo bay to our usual stay in negril we thought, boy what a quick trip hassle free, everything clicked ! Until we arrived at our hotel. Our bookings had changed and we could not stay where we wanted to, room just way too small for a months stay (closet size) I just knew things went too smooth...but your in Jamaica so what the hey. Early the next morning we went apartment hunting, our first distination was Footprints, as we headed towards our first stop to our surprise we ran into Al & Mary having breakfeast at Surietta's (sp) on the beach. We both exchanged greetings, as it turned out we were more than happy to run into them again in Negril.
I explained what happened with our room & with no hesitation Al & Mary came to our aid. They told us about Gardienia Resort across the street from Seawinds Resort they have at great place and with exactly what we were looking for. Al told us to use thier names as they stayed there for 15 years . So we did use Al & Mary's name and boy we couldn't have had a nicer place to stay. I told Al that we were going to take him up on his offer and stay at the Gardienia Resort. Then Al jumb up and volunteered his services, Al drove us back to our place to pick up our belongings and take us to Gardienia Resort. I thought wow what nice people helping out perfect strangers. As we have gotten to know Al & Mary we find that they are the real deal... good people helping and supporting many of Jamaica's less forutnate.
The Gardienia Resort is across the street with many qualities that satisfied us, friendly staff not pushy, large pool, large rooms with & without kitchens set on a lovel property and the price was right !
You never know how nice people really are until you open up and communicate.
A very pleasent expierence BIG Thanks to Al & Mary for your rescuing us in our hour of need !
