It's not like this is the Soviets vs Canada in the Summit series, or the Soviets vs the US in 1980.

It's True that all of Canada shut down to watch the final game of the summit series. Schools gathered their students in the gymnasium and everyone watched. I was 10 at the time and willl never forget that. For Canada, the Olympics are a way of validating our past successes. Maybe that's why the players seem to have an edge. The entire nation lives vicariously through the team. Maybe hard to understand for non-canucks and I can't explain....it just is.

Congrats Canada... The talent on that team, and women's as well , is truly incredible! Not a great outcome for U.S. fans, but the hockey loving world has to salute two great games in 2 days. Well done and a tip of the cap to our lovable neighbors to the north! Flip- nice wager in a friendly spirit. Love it, as well as your graceful concession. As I said- this is one where everyone wins. He will be ok I figure at at $2 a beer a case is $48, and at $3 , that's $72 so that's the worst case and I wont throw in any girly drinks! Now if he can sneak in some heavy rum punches that could be a whole new ball game!
