Is there a significant difference in how rough the water is between Tensing Pen and Catcha?
My profile pic is from last year at Tensing in Feb.. The waves broke on the cliffs for 3 days and it was incredible to see and hear. We stayed at Catcha this Oct. and the seas were quite calm. I think it's more dependent on when you are there versus where you are there.
They are a pitching wedge away from each other. Not much difference if any. Maybe fractions of an inch in the grand scheme of things. Many folks have said it is smoother earlier in the day and in my limited experience this sings true.
Show up expecting the best and it will more likely come.......
We've stayed at both properties during the same trip and did not notice a difference in the waves.
We were at Catcha in September and it was rough. Getting out of the water was a challenge..visited Tensing and it seemed calmer.
I will have my18 and 24 yr old sons with me who love to jump off the cliffs. Thinking safety...Visiting end of May..
Thanks for all your responses!
Swimming at Catcha is very tricky.......When you get out of the water with all the waves you better Not touch the walls filled with sea Urchins?????
Obviously, how rough it is based on the ocean, not the particular property, but generally the smoothest of all is the cove at Rockhouse.
I disagree Gerry,,,,The small inlet at Catcha is narrow so it makes the wave impact Bigger?Remember, last year two workers didn't make it out ?
Rockhouse and Xtabi do not have a small inlet,so a bit easier.
