Re: Can I walk safely from Bloody Bay Beach to Long Beach?
My wife and I took that walk this past trip with no problem. One guy asked if why I didn't bring him a beer, but that's it.

Look for Rise N Shine on this stretch of the beach between Azul and the private house. He is a Rasta that sells his goods from the beach and he makes some of them from recycled glass, etc. He is really chill and very cool to sit and chat with.

Fred Stripe--Yep, he was a big guy. We ere there in November, and besides the couple that were walking in front of us, there was no one else around, at all. Again, if this happened to a newbie going for a walk from one of the all-inclusives, I bet they would feel like they shouldn't have "left their compound" like everyone is warned. Too bad.

Re: Can I walk safely from Bloody Bay Beach to Long Beach?
Thank you pamc, fred and others for your posts about this location. Pam, great point about the perspective of newbies and how it might affect them. The question of safety from the OP had struck me as one of road safety and I didn't even consider the other aspect. Overall I think the paths are safe, but take into consideration the time of day you're passing through, and/or the time of year that you're visiting (is it slow season?)... Anyway, awareness is a great item to pack... we usually have that with us. For our next trip I may consider the addition of a walking stick...just in case I lose my balance. - k
