This is a great exercise for sure. Makes you REALLY ponder the reality of so many. As Flip said "it ain't all palm trees and sunshine"... I love Bluez answer... I would probably do the same thing in terms of running errands for tips.... Probably overlooking that I am encroaching on others turf and the new low guy on the totem pole. You'd have to earn a reputation of honesty and kindness. Hopefully seek out people to make mention of me on this board..
I guess the answer is I would do what everyone else has to do, and that is survive. It's humbling to take a pause and just imagine what it would be like.
I think I would also seek out Stephen West and try to drink in as much of his spirit of kindness that he puts out in the world, and hope it comes back to me.... That guy to me is the face of Jamaican positivity and lives... really lives the one love ideal...
I do wonder if I pack the sand to make it. I guess I do but have never been tested in anywhere near the way most Jamaicans are out of the gate. I think we all respect them for their tenacity and dignity in the face of so much adversity.
