Can a tragedy bring new life to beach?

The banning of jet skis has caused the return of more pelicans, sandpipers, rays and who knows what else on Negril Beach. Next the family of dolphins that ranged from the lighthouse to Booby Cay every day might even return. I know that those turtle babies I saw hatch will be safer. Maybe the actual boobies will return (not the nude ones, guys) The swimmers are safer. Babies are safer making sandcastles. I noticed more non motorized items in the water: those board things with the paddles, kayaks, sail boats, canoes, etc. If we speak up for alternatives like that perhaps we can make a difference in our beach experience and out of tragedy comes.....

Was on the beach last week and you definitly can tell that the jet skis are not running. You are right about the marine life that have moved closer to shore and the birds and most of all the noise. Having said that I do understand that creates difficulties for people trying to make a living.

I'm glad the jet skis are gone. Sure you can walk beach easier too not having them right beside the shoreline.

People used to make a living selling type writers. Not so much anymore. Sometimes, you just have to move on to trying to make a living doing something else.

Was there most of Feb. Way nicer without the jet skis. Swam to Alfreds deck everyday with zero hassle.
If you are worried about something, do something about it. If there is nothing you can do, why worry!

Have to agree 100% with Gail. We were there in Nov/Dec and had to get out of the water a few times because horse poop was floating around. It was disgusting! At least they should be made to pick it up and take it with them. Not bury it in the sand.

Yes they do need to get the horses off the beach.
