    Help to develop an itinerary

I have found a private driver that i am pleased with and would like to figure out what to do for not quite a full day trip. We will be at Couples Negril and am thinking maybe 9-3pm. Attractions that sound nice are the Lighthouse, Blue Hole and Mayfield Falls. Not sure if all are doable. What would you do? Was thinking of being dropped back off on Long Beach foe lunch and shopping. Lunch somewhere along the way would be fine, too. Help!

Blue Hole and the lighthouse fit together nicely as a short day trip. Coming back from the Blue Hole you will go right past the lighthouse.

Mayfield is a stunningly beautiful and unforgettable experience... Blue Hole ... Meh.... It's cool but... If you are making one venture off the compound I think Mayfield would leave a lasting impression... Just one guys opinion of what I would do if only getting one 6 hour window...

Barb, what has your driver suggested to you? It seems to me that that is part of his "job" - you tell him what your interests are, what you like to do (in general terms since this is your first trip to Negril/Jamaica) and you don't know the area yet. Give him the time frame you want to fill and then he comes up with ideas to fit what it is YOU like. I thought all drivers worked this way but then again, my boyfriend and I only contacted one company last year, were totally thrilled with them/our driver and will be using them again this summer when we return to Negril. That's how we came up with our outing last year and will do it the same way this year - we felt like we got something customized to our tastes rather than a standard fare type day. Sorry, somehow this is not as easy to explain a I thought it would be.

Thanks, but I have NO interest in the pub crawl. The private drivers that i have contacted asked what I would like to do and then quoted me a price and timeframe. I am thinking i would like to,go to the falls and then lunch off the tourist area. Do you think this is doable in my time frame? Would a quick stop at the loghthouse fit in?

Check with your driver on time it would take. You aren't going to want to race through Mayfield or really anywhere. Sometimes you will want to take a quick glance and others you will want to slowly savor. Keeping timeline open allows for unexpected fun to unfold in front of you. You will see what I mean if you go. My advice would be to be flexible and relaxed as you can unless you are in a rush to get back to a wedding...and in that case only if it is your own
Good advice by Olivia. Based on your interests and wants, budget etc..your driver will be your best ally to make for a great experience.
Have fun in whatever you choose...

I hate Itineraries... when in Negril I cannot make plans, I will start to go somewhere planned and usually end up someplace completely different...lol

Doc I do believe we could hang. I dig your philosophy. That is the beauty of Negril and vacations in general. We have our whole lives to adhere to schedules and deadlines. Down there it is a let it come to you kind of deal...served me well over the years. That's why I choose travel buddies wisely. I refuse to run on a schedule, hold anyone back, or be held back...

I would do Mayfield falls and have lunch there before returning, food is good. You order when you get there and its waiting when you return from falls.
