    check luggage or carry on?

I can easily get my clothes in a carry on, but I'd like to bring all the sun lotion and bug spray and such which would force me to check my bag. Any issues with baggage claim at Mo Bay airport?

I don't think there is any concern about the Sangster Baggage Claim process as it is now run by a private company who is very efficient. Of course, anything can happen but not a rampant problem.

    Have a great trip!

I usually divide my clothes up between checked baggage and carry on - so IF there is an issue - I still have a few things in my carry on to get me through the day or a couple of days

yes Seveen we do the same , learned a lesson long time ago when r luggage was lost for 3 days , we were able to go to the sqare and pick up what we needed and American airlines re-inbursed us 170 bucks, not sure if they would do that today lol

Baggage claim is very fast at Sangster, usually the bags are there by the time you get through immigration.

Sometimes, our bags are removed from the belt and placed on the floor at the side of the room. Don't forget to check there.

I think I'm going just carry on next reach, but there's no way my wife could do it. She brings way too many shoes.

I put two days worth of clothes and toiletries in my carryon and the rest goes in my checked bag. Never know when your luggage could get lost...not that it has happened to me. Better safe than sorry.

It's possible to check in at Sangster, when leaving Jamaica, using a kiosk. That means, if you don't have a bag to check, you can get your boarding pass and head right into security....the lines to check in if you have luggage are always really long with most airlines I've flown so for that reason alone, I never check a bag. Last trip 6 of us traveled together, only one of us had a bag to check and we all had to stand around for 45 minutes waiting for her before we could go meet up with Club MoBay and head in.

Plus it's just easier to have my stuff with me and be mobile since i tend to move around a lot. I bring travel size liquids, mosquito wipes, and buy more of whatever if necessary.

We each do a small carry-on (backpack) with what we would need for a day or two and everything else gets checked. By the time you get through immigration your bags will be waiting for you. Another safeguard is some of my clothes go in my wife's bag and some of hers in mine. If a bag didn't make it we would be fine. That also shows we take way, way too much stuff! If carry-on only got you through faster I'd do it but I'd have to leave the wife at home. lol
