Why is everyone so offended by the label of cheap sob - if you tip, it's not meant for you. If you don't, perhaps you want to rethink your tipping practice when you get good service. People in the Service Industry don't make a good base wage, in the US or in Jamaica. I don't know about Canada and I've never been to Europe.

I don't believe for a minute that of the many many people who read this board, everyone tips. Not to mention the term was used in response to the veiled suggestion by Accompong that the OP is being lied to.

Is everyone suffering cabin fever? Between this thread and the Rondel thread, I'm shaking my head.

Sorry, Marcia. I was not insinuating that the "OP was being lied to" at all (veiled or otherwise).

I know first hand how difficult it is for one's good friend in Jamaica to make it on cheap wages and high cost of living. In my case, my good friend was not lying about the need as I believe that the "OP" (whatever that stands for) is not being lied to either.

I did the "Western Union" fandango for a time to make things a likkle better for them and I would have appealed to others to help through tipping etc. to make things better for them and ease the financial strain on me.

I saw a likkle of myself in that post and responded accordingly.

Didn't mean it to dis Respect "OP" in anyway.
