The hotel we stay at adds a service charge but we don't know how far it goes, so we "handshake" a tip to the housekeeper a couple times a week, the bartender, beach guys at the beginning and the end, our favorite waitresses that we have known for years (usually only eat breakfast and an occasional dinner) and then we give the manager a bulk tip to spread around the other wait staff and kitchen staff who we don't get to see....recommended by the owner. That way everybody gets a piece of the pie. Works out to an extra $15 a day.
