I was thinking about taking a boat ride over to Booby Cay island on our upcoming trip. A few years back we did a little snorkeling trip with one of the boat captains near our hotel so I thought we'd ask him about taking us over there.
From what I see, the main draw of the island is the lobsters they will cook up for you. Problem is, I'll be there in late April when the season is closed. I know there are plenty of people who still buy lobster when they shouldn't, but I don't want to support that. I know there is still the lobster guy trying to sell his catch along the beach, but do people still sell on the island as if it is open season? I've read TA reviews where people seem to eat lobster all year long there. I'm surprised it isn't enforced better, if that's the case.
My question is, will there be anything worth doing over there that time of year? I don't need to snorkel; I'd rather just float around in the water and lounge at my hotel. But if there was someone cooking up lunch, it might be fun to stop by for an hour or so. If not, I'll anxiously await the Patty Man and Dean's jerk pork!
Any thoughts?
