    It's raining Canadians!

Not that it bothers me in the slightest but I am noticing a lot of people from Canada on this forum and others. Is there a large population of travelers to Negril Via Canada? If so can anyone answer as to why that is? Is it merely to escape the cold or something more? Or, and this is totally possible, am I just nuts?

We have met several Canadians on our trips. We became friends with one couple particularly. I find Canadians to be very refreshing. On my last visit, my Canadians friends and I were talking about the differences between Americans and Canadians in generalities. She said she thought Canadians were less driven and I said the word was maybe "intense". My personal thought is that Canadians like the laid back vibe in Negril. I'm glad they do, because I have really enjoyed meeting all the great Canadians I have met in Negril.

IDK what happened to my original reply so sorry in advance if you got this twice...

Thanks for the reply Jama. I was also thinking it may have something to do with the cannabis culture in Canada? This would vibe very well with all I have read about Negril. I too have a super laid back vibe and feel that with everything I have learned about this place that I will want to go back ASAP. I arrive on Thursday but only for 4 nights...This will be my first international travel!!! So Excted!!!

Not unlike Americans, Canada has regional differences in speaking. In the west we don't use "aboot" at all eh.

    Hi,
I'm Canadian and the reasons why I love Jamaica is simply because of the weather, they have the best food, no problems with communication, nicest long beach for walking, reasonable prices. We have been to Cuba and Mexico but Jamaica is our favourite.
We got married in Jamaica over 17 years ago in Ocho Rios at the waterfalls at a resort that was called Enchanted Gardens -this was the most beautiful place ever!! We have also travelled to White House, Montego Bay and Negril. Next Feb. we will be staying for three weeks in Negril and our sons will join us for a week. Just can't stay away, think about Jamaica everyday!!!

I think, in general, some of the biggest differences between Canucks and Americans are:
    - Americans exhibit their patriotism much more so than Canucks do,
    - Canadians have a much more refined sense of entitlement/dependency in that they expect their governments to do everything for them
    - Canadians say 'sorry' and 'eh' a lot
    - Canucks truly think they are 'better' than 'those noisy Americans' (in general)
    - Americans are more accepting and outgoing and friendly that Canucks

I'm a proud Canadian, but unlike most Canadians, I freely admit that I really love Americans.

Now, I have not noticed the apologizing and saying "sorry" thing. I will notice that more now probably. :-)
