    does anybody remember a male singer from Jamaica, he would be in his 60's, sang a song that had lyrics, of "I can hear the sounds of the drums coming from the hills" and more about his memories of Jamaica as he is returning....he has a voice that is deep and has been refereed to as a Jamaican Charlie Pride, if you have heard him, you will know why lol...I had a CD but lost it ???
    He at last check was still living, bought a bus, and gives free rides for school kids...nice man-giving back....

    found him.......Ernie Smith...for those who like older ballad type music from Jamaica, Google him...listen to Pitta Patter and Duppy Gunman or Sunday coming Down.........you would think its Charlie Pride........

    Charlie Pride is high praise indeed... ONE of my ALL TIME FAVORITE country singers. Give a listen to "you're my Jamaica"... A great Charlie Pride B side from 1979. It basically is about recognizing the beauty of the islands in our hearts no matter where we are... And let's face it, the crowd here tries to do that 365-24-7. Would be a perfect jam to take over to Connie at C & D pub.
    Thank you for the tip on Ernie Smith. I will definitely be giving him a listen. Maybe the thread can move the needle on Charlie and Ernie a tad on iTunes.
