    Sometimes the Negril ocean is warmer than the pool. Can someone explain this?

    Not that I'm complaining. I love it. But it's true -- the ocean is often slightly warmer than the pool. How can this be if the ocean is so deep???

    Just as hot air rises which is why hot air balloons work, warmer water rises as well.

    During the summer, the surface sea water is often hotter than pool water as the surface area is so large...

    Pools continually to get fresh water added to them to keep the levels up lost to evaporation. City/Well water is much cooler and reduces the overall temperature. Just like adding cool water to a hot bath water in your tub.
