Does your hotel room come with a safe? If so, take cash and just hit the cambio when you need JMD. BofA used to allow Scotia transactions with no fees, unfortunately that is no longer the case. I'm getting ready to fire them as this was the only reason I still banked with them. Too many options out there to deal with banks like this. Many banks refund any sort of fees assessed, so take a look around. If you happen to be a veteran look at USAA......

I hate BofA.. If you find a good one let me know. Wells Fargo wont even let me pull from a Scotia ATM.

I don't know if it helps anyone - but I just signed up with Citibank 360 checking. (the old ING) Free checking, a ton of free atm's everywhere - and International there are
no fees or bank charges at all when on vacation!! I almost signed up with B of A (which I don't like) I had thought they were free - but now they also charge 3%. ouch
