I discovered Geocaching about 2 years ago. I'm hoping to do more caching this spring\summer. I've been meaning to bring a travel bug with me to Ja to see how quickly it can make it back to a cache near my home.

Yah, I did some geocaching in Negril. Put my cache under an unopenned Red Strip bottle. Dang if PoolguyW didn't find it in fifteen minutes!

Would a GPS from North America even work in Negril? I assume you'd have to download maps etc.

not a cacher but i seem to remember there is a cache at a small but well known bar/brownie establishment in negril, just saying.

The GPS can give you your Latitude and Longitude within 12 feet in Jamaica........A built in road map may be a different story...

You don't need the road map if you have any navigational ability. (If not I can coach you)
