Good question, I would like to hear as well.
Was there in February and the hot tub was not running and the old deck to it was falling down. People (kids) were in the pool but I wouldn't go in. Restaurant and bar were open, our food was good and we ate breakfast there most mornings. I think 3 people total were running the bar and restaurant from open until close and there was Tony serving on the beach. Beers were cheap and cold.
I can't speak about security because I didn't look for it and didn't really notice it either. We locked up at night and when we were gone during the day. Never had a problem.
If you are staying with Jean you should get good beach chairs but be there at 7am. Everyone else got broken chairs. I know Jean had another shipment of chairs on their way as we left.
I am interested in an update also. I was there in Dec/Jan and I have pretty much he same opinion as Rumlover except I was not impressed with the restaurant or bar with service or taste of food. I saw security and I think Max was a good addition to the security team. Most of the chairs were broken but they did seem to give condo renters the chairs that were in better condition.

The restaurant & bar have always been a contract operation, at least for the last 15 years or so. It was part of the hotel operation before the Wallace family took over the management. I was last there in Feb so my info is based on then. Yes, the beer is cheap & cold, daily drink specials offered too. I hope Tony is still there even when times slow. Good move on the part of the bar operators. Pool open but iffy, hot tub closed... palm tree droppings (seeds) have destroyed the pump. When/if it gets repaired in the future, it really needs to have a canopy cover to protect it. Not popular w/ visitors but necessary to keep it working & clean. Watch your step on the pool wooden deck area, too. Some spongy boards & watch for nails sticking out. Max is a nice addition to security... good to see a familiar, friendly face again. Yes, there is security night & day. If you don't see them it's because they are not in uniform, plain clothes. Beach chairs... same as mentioned above. They are NOT inexpensive, especially w/ shipping & duty to JA. I know... as my condo board's treasurer I've been working on buying new furniture (same as at Beach Club) for our pool/jacuzzi area. Prices vary... low $100's each (bulk) to almost $200 each. I finally get a best price @ the local Lowe's... $50 each. Even at that price probably double that, minimum in Jamaica. Looking forward to an update.
