Re: Keith Richards Cover Bob Marley With Musicians Worldwide
Keith recorded an album (2 now) with a group of nyabinghi drummers in Steertown, Ja just west of Ocho Rios. The first album was nominated for a grammy award. I searched out and met several members of the original group, as well as the widow of the deceased group leader "Bongo" Locksey Whitlock a couple of years ago. I inquired as to how the royalties were doing (everyone looked without means to me) they all said the same thing "we never received a farthing from Keith". No contracts were presented to the drummers, just promises of payment between "friends". They were all upset that promises had been broken. I helped them out a little, the lady a little more, she was very sweet and showed me her husbands drum with pride. Is Keith a great guy? I'm not so sure.
