    Sending meds

I have to send my meds to CLP before I leave, and have them arrive when I do, Does anyone know if Fedex or UPS comes to Negril? I think DHL does. There would be 14 boxes. If anone is familiar with the logistics, please advise me. TIA

    Hi

I've used DHL and know for definite they deliver to negril.
FedEx does deliver to Jamaica, so contact them, at worst it will be mobay they deliver to I think.

Just a thought but have you checked that you can send your meds by courier because of customs restrictions.

Restricted items as defined by the Royal Mail, with Jamaica being a Commonwealth country probably applies:

Prescription medicines and drugs sent for scientific purposes May only be sent by, or at the specific request of, a qualified medical practitioner, registered dental practitioner, veterinary surgeon, registered nurse or a recognised laboratory or institution.

Medicines classified as non-flammable or non-toxic must be securely closed and placed in a leak-proof container such as a sealed polythene bag (for liquids) or a siftproof container (for solids). Must be tightly packed in strong outer packaging and must be secured or cushioned to prevent any damage. The sender’s name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.

Medicines classified as flammable, toxic or flammable and toxic are prohibited. Please see www.royalmail.com/internationalprohibitedgoods

    According to US Postal Service:

Prescription Drugs – Prescription medications can only be mailed by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registered entities. Similar regulations may apply to over-the-counter medications.

This may end up being a lot of paper work. Is it possible to have your Doctor contact a Doctor here and have equivalent medications available and in stock for you when you arrive?

Bring them with you if you can, or try Rob's idea to have your doctor contact a local doctor to set you up here. Don't count on a delivery service to clear and get them to you if the timing is critical.
