Thanks for the overview. That's what I like about Flip's trip reports. He tries out all the places that I might not want to take a chance on. Sort of like a Fodor's for budget Negril hotels.

On my last trip, I spent a couple hours at the Travellers bar while my wife was at their nail salon (right on site). Really cool vibe at the bar and I thought the grounds were nice for the price (by no means is the place as polished as Charela or Idle Awhile, but it was clean and well maintained). We had lunch at the restaurant, and I found the food and service to be good.

As an aside - I had spent all my cash on Red Stripes and my wife's nails, so when it came time for lunch I opted to pay with a credit card. After sitting at the bar for a while, my math wasn't exactly on-point and I made big error on the the credit card tip - to the tune of $100 in the favor of Travellers. Well, as we were walking out, the restaurant manager stopped me an alerted me to the error. She had me correct the CC slip to the appropriate tip amount and then showed me on the computer that were only going to charge my card for the revised amount. I appreciated the honesty as I'm not sure I would see that even in the States.
