Hit the nail on the head again David.
Just because you can fry an egg or answer a phone doesn't give you the necessary credentials to operate a restaurant or hotel. Negril is littered with people who tried and failed and others who are next to failing.
Yeah, you will have a nice place for your friends to come and stay and after a while they won't want to pay for that either. They will justify it by saying that you have lots of money and don't need theirs.
I know this is just a dream of most of us but it has been a nightmare for some as well. I know because I tried once myself.

Big Frank, I hope I'm one of your worthy quests???
CaptainD and Accompong, I agree...
Tom who used to rent and run Pirates Cave once said during a late night full of rum at Seastar.... "The only way to make a small fortune in Jamaica is to arrive with a large fortune and rent or buy a place to run!"
and leave before the small fortune disappears....
As long as I'm on your guest list vvht
People fail at all forms of business. Success can be had in Negril, and there are numerous examples of it on the beach and West End. Who's to say one would fail as you did? Those that understand their customer will continue to have success, those that do not or those who fail to manage their assets will not.
Screw that. Running a hotel is work. If I win the lottery, it's a life of leisure for me.
