a quick reflection prior to my trip report...i got work and softball to catch up on before i can get all the pics and thoughts sorted for my report...
Both my wife and I agree that this was the best trip, best vacation ever.....and if u read some of my past reports, we have had some fun...
and what made it so good was all the great people we shared time with...met up with lots of old friends and some of the new characters we met were fabulous...
there is a mixture of about 50-70 peeps that we interacted with personally, and about 15 that we partied with for about a week straight...and 2 couples in particular that made it the best time ever...thanks flip and roy mon and your lovely ladies...
as i discussed with Janet on the way home, some think of vacation as a relaxing time in a lounger, sunning, relaxing, etc...she was one of those...some like to explore, see new things that u cant see at home, eat at new places, drink at differnt views, meet and observe interesteing characters....that is me...noiw we have mixed both of those with a bus full of vacation family and it leads to some very action packed and fun filled afternoons...TRUE VACATION...away from the bump and grind, hustle and bustle of every day life back home...no worries, toughests decisions are do i go left or right when i leave my hotel for my beach walk?...is it rum or beer today? pattys or box food for lunch? chicken or fish or ??? for supper? other than that, the rest just falls into place...for 2 weeks, just go with the flow, and it ALWAYS leads to a party....I love all u guys that i came across...
no jet ski equals less noise.....so much peace....and less hustlers...the horses are still there....not as much galloping as in the past....i had a friend staying at bar b barn for 3 months at a time 6 months of the year that has had a big issue with them several days in a row and is complaining and talking to some higher peeps at the about these incidents...he says pretty much 4-5 days a week they walk the horse into the water about an ankle deep and the horse drops his kids off in the pool, right there...lol...
biggest beach at treehouse and also at travellers areas that we have seen...
those who like the shows on the beach at night...alfreds and roots bamboo are losing to bourbon beach during the 3 weeks that we were there...never went into alfreds, walked by it most friday and sunday nights and at 11, usually about 10-15 tourists and 5 locals in there...same with roots on nights with cover charge...even on nights when roots did not have cover, with live band, they would have 20-30 people, mixture of both locals and tourists....bourbon beach had more than 100 every night, it seemed like....always no cover...all the locals and most the tourists....and most of the roots crowd ended at bb before the band was even finished at roots...everyone went to where the party was......
dont have any bewares or watch out fors, because nothing negative happened to us (other than the occasional normal hustler incidents) to alter our fun...
i can tell u for sure that there was an ambulance in Negril because a group of us saw it!!!
Helping out at the St Anthonys kitchen was a blast...so glad we finally got up and did it...we turned the alarm off tues wed and thurs mornings because of the night before, but we made ourselves do it on friday...even though we only got in at 230 am and had to be in the lobby at 630 for pickup...whew!!! Sorry Weatherman and his lovely wife...Janet told Helen that we would meet you guys on wed morning, but we tried...lol...
how about a not worth the risk story...i like the subs...when i ran out of fillings for my sub, i made my call and asked for something stronger...there is medical in jamaica, i know because i got some...when he brought my lettuce, he had a small chunk of purple that he gave me...made a couple nice grape subs with it...he said he had a guy from the states bring his own stuff in because the stuff in jamaica was not good enuff...guy gave it to him to try...said he tried it..TOO strong for him...been holding onto it for awhile...just gave it to me...but he said the guy told him he does it all the time..."they dont check coming in, only going out"....well, imo, it only takes once...
the smaller, laid back places have some of the best bartenders...
cant keep up with flip and jackie...i think they are gonna walk all the way to Sav one day....
i felt as safe as i ever had, in my room, on the beach at night and even on the road....teh sidewalks all great from grand pineapple to the roundabout...
drink lots of water to hydrate...
the original "step a Side", Marshall still had the best barrle chicken, imo....
i found brownies to be a nice addition to my diet while paradise....still lmbo...
thats all for now....
