    6 days, solo- ideas?

It's been a couple of years since I've been back. Just booked my solo trip this July - starting at 2pm on a Monday afternoon. Any ideas or suggestions of must- sees, must go, etc that would be fun and fill my time while there? I plan on reading a lot, relaxing a lot -but would love to take advantage of every second. Starting with Monday and ending with Saturday (I fly home Sunday) what do I do that a solo traveler can appreciate and enjoy? I'll link up with my brother in-law while there a few nights- but for the most part, I will be on my own.

One Love Bar Crawl, Zimbali for lunch (they pick you up and return you). Cat cruise to Half Moon beach (or just call a taxi and go explore and hang out). Drifters on Friday, Seastar Saturday, walk the beach and try out the happy hours, eat

My last (and only) solo reach, I hooked up with a couple who posted on this board (or maybe it was TA) that they were looking for people to reduce the per person cost of a trip out to YS Falls and Pelican bar. It was well worth it.

I also spent a few hours at the St. Anthony Soup kitchen. I helped make some food, washed some dishes and helped serve lunch. Talk about a rewarding experience. The ladies who operate this are saints.

That sounds like a great idea- the more the merrier! Also, I was thinking of heading over to St. Anthony Soup Kitchen too- where is it abouts?

yes, volunteer at St. Anthony's Kitchen.. it will be the highlight of your trip.. near roundabout on road to Sav. ask anyone. the best morning I had was when the early morning on-duty bartender where I stayed gave me a personal sunrise walk to the Kitchen.

It's about a half mile up the road from the round about on the left hand side of the road. It's on the road that heads out to Sav La Mar. There is a sign out front. Any driver will know where it is. I had a route taxi drop me at the round about and I just walked the rest. One of the ladies' husband actually drove me back to my hotel afterward. The funny part was, the whole ride he talked about his VERY recent cataract surgery.

Something I have wanted to do for a few years now, but never got the chance cause always thought of it as a solo kind of trip....last year was there with 6 girlfriends followed by 7 couples and one of our kids, and the year before the whole fam jam and another as well. Always thought this would be my one guilty pleasure kind of day...Abba Jahnehoy Place. Looks very interesting and peaceful.

Follow the webcasts. Bound to be boardies at them, and you will likely wonder what "solo" means! You will have friends for a lifetime in a heartbeat and a great time! For sure the One Love Pub Crawl (do you want Lenbert's number? I can PM you! ) Been on at least 6 of them and they're always new and fun!

If you can swing it, I would suggest a trip to Abeukota (I seriously spelled that wrong), it's lovely!

St Anthony's is a definite DO IT! We go every trip! You cannot help but fall in love with Miss Pearl and Andrea and Aunt Poon and all the team there. Fr. Jim is adorable! They are marvellous, hard workers, generous people! You're going in summer so, lunch will be busier than in high season since the kids are out of school. They still have the breakfast programme. (Be sure to give reverence to The Sacred Egg Lifter!). It's an awesome experience! I believe that Monday is The Day, as after breakfast, they chop their little hearts out for the week - chop up all the veggies, and such they will need for the week. Don't be shy! It's near the Police Station and that Taxi terminal on the road to Sheffield. It's on the left coming from Negril. For the breakfast serving, you should be there by 6:30-7, but you can find out if that's different in the summer. I'm pretty sure we went the same time in the summer.

If you're an animal lover, I can find out if there is a spay/neuter clinic if you're interested. They always need help there, too!

Look for red and white maple leaves - Canadians are always down for a good time!

Cool runnings, and I hope you have many "nights you cannot remember with friends you will never forget!"
