negril#1fan (and anyone else) Where are your favorite jumps/dives and how High?

negril#1fan states "I go to ricks to jump, even dive... just recently dove and with other 30 visits in almost 30 yrs, I ain't young... Used to love Pirates Cave and diving/jumping swiming..... Now that I can't jump ,haven't been there since. If I couldn't jump/dive from ricks, I would n't go there....

Escape gets quite a bit of business from me as well. Why? I love jumping/diving from lighthouse..."

Q---I always thought the Lighthouse cliffs and ladders were free for everyone. Why does Escape get your business? If you don't mind explaining, I am curious.

Besides Ricks, Lighthouse, Pirates Cave of old, Xtabi are there any other spots I am missing?

    My cliff jumping story...
Thirteen years ago, in the evening at the Xtabi bar, things were
very lively. Much drinking among many couples, shots of Tequila, Rum etc.
    We all had too much.
One woman kept needling me about jumping off the cliff naked.
"If you jump naked, I'll jump with you." She wouldn't let it rest.
So finally I said "OK, let's do it". Out to the platform we went.
Stripped down and jumped into the darkness. I went feet first into the water and the
worst that happened was a "Caribbean enema".
So that was my first and only jump. I figured once I'd done that
I needed to jump no more.

I completely agree with your policy of running a food/drink/tip tab...I do the same thing. I was confused because I thought you were jumping directly from lighthouse property. When at the lighthouse-compound, I sometimes bring my own drinks & snacks. Donation to the keeper is sometimes part of the bargain. I estimate the lighthouse jump approx 42 feet? Pirates/Pushcart 35 feet? Rick's...I am not sure?

Papa G...Lol ! While wearing a swimsuit, I have had unpleasant garment-adjustment while descending a giant water slide. Never a Caribbean enema!

In the dark, it felt like I would never hit the water. Whoo!

Seriously this thread could have waited a few days....under the circumstances, poor taste and pushing the envelope and the point. In light of the recent circumstances.

You think Ricks is higher than the lighthouse platform?

    I have to agree ~

I also have to agree. Again-not that it should even matter, as one would think common courtesy would prevail, but there are actually members of the board who are friends/have connections with the deceased. Maybe a private message to negrilfan would have been in better taste

I respect your opinions, but can't say I agree. Most folks regard a few days as three (3). Common courtesy and/or politeness isn't for any one person to judge. You believe that I am in the wrong and I don't. I can't say that I am aware of your unwritten rules. Perhaps 4 days, 7 days or maybe 11 1/2? Certainly, a percentage of folks are unaware of the accident. Sorry, if it offended or caused undue distress.

Private message would have precluded Papa Georgies amusing tale and also MikeyNYC's input which I value.

Cliff jumping is a popular topic like: cheapest red stripe, taxi advice, airport transfers.

I never met a Canadian in his twenties that I din't like. I think this a horrible tragedy and would never say something specific about the situation that could be construed as disrespectful or insensitive. Never, never, never! Wish I could have been there to help or prevent this.

I simply became intrigued when I came across a post from negril#1fan about his 30 years of experience on the subject.

That being said it is now okay to "pile-on"...I can take it
