    Negril Escape?

Thoughts? I have my choices down to Xtabi, Catcha Gardens and now Negril Escape which emailed me a great rate for ocean view room for US$73.00 including breakfast.

I'm torn. Catcha is a bit far west, Xtabi put me smack dab in front of 3-Dives which is where I plan on hanging out with some friends that night and Negril Escape has that great rate. I'm not knowing what to do! Decisions, decisions!

I wouldn't hesitate to take that rate. I haven't been there in a few years and NE is definitely on the 'rustic' side. I would not recommend it to someone who anticipating anything fancy. Or even meeting what might be considered 'standard' in the US. But it is clean and comfortable, breakfast is great, staff is helpful and friendly, nice, large grounds, good location. It's got everything I need and want. And I like that it is locally owned.

I stayed at Negril Escape for 5 nites this past New Years. I have no desire to stay there again. The plumbing is atrocious. It was difficult getting a toilet to flush and getting enough water for a shower was very difficult.

I'm getting a lot of the same feedback justchuck. Thank you- I hope they get things worked out! Needless to say, I am set for Xtabi.

I'm thinking Xtabi's your best bet

We did have water issues there, but they were quickly able to up the pressure enough to get an acceptable shower. However, that was a couple years ago and the plumbing problems may have worsened since then. (He did tell me that he had to push to system to the limit to get my pressure up enough.)

Have you called Xtabi? (876-957-0524) They will give a discount for paying cash on arrival, which makes there room rate more resonable. The A/C garden side room is now at $75.60 U.S. including room taxes p/n. They offer a discount for staying 7 nights. Let them know the Negril Escape rate and negotiate, you never know.

Yes! I was told I would get a discount if I pay by cash on arrival. I forgot to mention the Negril Escape rate when I booked, however. But Kimberly over there was very nice and I am all set. It's only one night, if it had been more, I might have haggled a bit!
