I know many local jams who have no family to go to .//I dont blame them if they see a piece of un-used land that they can put up some zinc for a roof and some boards for the sides so at least they have the most basic human need"SHELTER" out of the rain, cold, heat,sun..a place to lay there head..that being said they also are all well aware that at anytime the govt or owners can come along and mash up the place..in the mean time though there doing what anyone of us would do: that is to make do with what you have to work with...thats how Jams survive....(remember-Jam has NO safety for its underprivileged people-the Govt could care less) ...as far as taking over peoples physical structures..and then refusing to leave on top of that...yeah -i can see where anyone would be upset (including myself) ..As someone posted there are diff types of squatting...but i feel the ones that were moved out of Negril were the ones I stated above...a place for some shelter...
