    Re: Negril Ambulance

This topic has been addressed since this Board started back in 1997. On the current server which has been running since 2008, there are hundred of posts that anyone can search for and find in a matter of seconds.

Under the green Events listing on each of the main pages, there is a search box that searches the entire Negril.com site. Type in the word ambulance and you get 328 posts made on this very subject, going back to 2008 when this server was started.

On the first page alone you may see posts from 2009 and 2010. The first post on this topic on this server was made in 2008. This is not a new topic.

You can use that search box to search for any topic that interests you on Negril.com. It is a handy feature.

Holy pissing contest! Seriously....suzengrace and booger....if you are that concerned about medical treatment in Negril, perhaps you should vacation in Florida....

Rob, thank you for the information. I would never expect you to spoon feed me the details of taking care of my grown ass while vacationing in Negril. Nonetheless, thank you for providing the information.

Asking those in the know for some insight on healthcare is far from a pissing contest. As I grow older and out of my youthful ways I put greater thought into what if. With recent events bringing to light the lack of available services, I am looking at this from a different angle. Also, with family members who require care on occasion, it's important to know what options you have. I wish I was in a place to travel without this being a worry, however life has dealt me a different hand.

I don't know what all the angst, finger pointing and defensiveness is about but I feel it's inappropriate.

Thank you Rob for the additional info and I look forward to the balance of info that you will post.

I know it's a horrible thought but insurance often covers the return of the body back to their home country. Well worth it even if you don't get the needed care in time. Check you're policy to be sure this is covered.

i believe this a board that is mostly geared to travelers visiting Negril and maybe wanting some info...I would assume that info might be something as important as medical care and more info than just the couple drs numbers n.com has posted ...If i am "pushing" the subject for in more info for something that for many is very important so what??? Thank you Rob for pasting the info on website...was that so hard ??? Now can you please delete me and my account from this board...

As someone who has had heart/blocked arteries issues in the past 2 years (and surgeries to correct) and still wants to travel in the future, this is a necessity for me to spare my family the expense. Hopefully if the worst happens in JA, cremation could be arranged in JA (as a realist I will contact one of the funeral homes in JA to see if that is possible before travelling).

Rob, Thank you again for your patience and follow thru on gathering this important information...I am sure most appreciate that research on a complicated topic like this takes much time any many phone calls to come up with the best answers and gameplan.....Thanks again....

I personally think there is nothing more valuable than the first hand knowledge from the boardies that have “been there, done that”.......but, this link has a lot of good info for everyone, including us “experienced” travelers to Negril. It will even give you the info on all the ambulance services listed above. http://www.negrilinfo.com/index.html...2614807_175580
