Todd, I looked at several of the links on that site and did not find any ambulance info. Which web address, specifically?

It's coincidental that this thread is happening at the same time as Miss G and Mommy are demanding I have plans in place to get emergency care.

I'm making arrangements both inside and outside of Jamaica.

One thing I do understand is that many of the Jamaicans I know have access to excellent health care and emergency services

Looking forward to this thread continuing

I asked my attorney for his advice. He has recommended a private hospital in Kingston. We are making pre arrangements and when I return in August everything should be in place including a pre payment....... Just in case.

Next step is to figure out how to get from Spring Garden to some where to be stabilized for transport to Kingston

If I need to be taken to the States the med evac insurance will handle that

Sorry, I should have noted the path. Click the “Negril links” on the right, click “Island of Jamaica yellow pages” and punch in Ambulance. I know it isn’t a very direct way of finding it. I'm just kinda sayin' if you look hard enough you can find just about anything on the web.

Have you folks checked with your insurance companies? My particular Blue Cross policy has BlueCard Worldwide, just bring the form with you when you travel out of the country.

You can find the exact link without having to search by clicking on the link at the bottom of the post where I gave the contact information for the private ambulance services. Here it is again:

We have individual health coverage through Sagicor here - it is an affordable plan and virtually all medical services (hospitals, clinics, dental, eye care, etc) are covered including prescriptions.

It is your typical 80/20 plan...

After seeing Booger's post that Seastar has a difibrillator I emailed Coco La Palm owner about that. I was told that one will be there by the end of summer. I wonder what other hotels have them.
