However, they seem to agree that the "public bathing beaches including in Negril, Montego Bay and Hellshire Beach, where PWC operations will be prohibited." That is a pretty firm detail they outline in their regulations.
    Thanks Rob,

That is why I put it out there. I thought there was a lot "more to the story" and I figured someone (especially YOU ) would set the matter straight.

You know, a lot of people just think of Negril as all there is in Jamaica and don't go past the town limits. I think that Chukka Cove has horseback riding and it is not in Negril. It is not necessary to mix swimmers and sunbathers with horses any more than PWC should be allowed. Jamaica is roughly the area and shape of Connecticut so there is a lot of area where concessions for renting can be established for these purposes and that will give people a good reason to get out and explore a little of the island at the same time.

    Thanks again.

Good points, and if this is how it will be handled I think the authorities have made a good compromise. The article linked a day or two ago was not at all clear on these details.

Our last trip there these two guys were riding horses, they went by us from behind, I felt the wind from the horse as it passed me by no more than a foot away. The rider didn't have control as he was yanking on the reigns and yelling at the horse but it kept running. I looked back at the sand the horses print was literally 2 feet from my own print. I have no idea why they are allowed on a public beach. Very scary.

April was so peaceful without them.

In a couple of days - Gail or anyone else there currently, please let us know if there are differences in the in the way they are operating; Are they only coming in and out at the public beach? Are they pulling up to people in the Swim Zones? Fewer of them? Are there other noticeable differences?

Oh how I was looking forward to the the quiet in August...was hoping to sneak one more trip in before the PWC's returned.
